Mercedes-Benz’s smallest crossover showed early

The network has the first data and images of the conceptual crossover MERCEDES-BENZ GLA. The prototype will officially submit to the showroom in Shanghai, which will open on Saturday, April 20. The overall length of the novelty is 4.38 meters, width – 1.97 meters, height – 1.57 meters. The wheelbase is the same with A-Class and is 2.69 meters. At the same time, the hatchback on nine centimeters shorter, for 19 centimeters already on 14 centimeters below GLA.

Concept-car equipped with roof rails, which attached additional lighting, protective plates under the front and rear bumpers, moldings on the wheeled arches from unscreased plastic, as well as 20-inch alloy wheels with tires dimension 255/45.

Interior, for the exclusion of some details, such as the design of the front panel and air ducts of the ventilation system to the rear sofa, almost completely duplicates the A-Class salon.

The prototype is equipped with a two-liter turbocharged fourth power of 211 horsepower. The power unit is combined with a semi-band "robot" with two clutches. Also, the car received a new 4Matic full drive system, designed specifically for models on the MFA modular platform and with a cross-location of the motor. The serial version of GLA motor gamma will be wider and it will include, in particular, a 350-strong engine from hot hatcha A45 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz GLA road tests began in September last year. The automaker also plans to release another compact crossover, the design of which will be performed in the G-Class style.
